Currently, the CRA is comprised of four departments to which it relates 15 research centers (including an interdepartmental one) and 32 research units. The distribution throughout the country allows the CRA to disseminate widely its expertise, working synergistically with the Central Government, Local Authorities, Companies and Associations. In light of the recent reorganization, the regions in particular as organs of connection between territory and agriculture, have taken a leading role in defining the guidelines of the search for CRA. The aggregation into a single institution can meet the dual objective of consolidating the experience of historical research institutes and adjust to the growing needs of industry innovation and technological evolution.
